This is a relief print, over an oil mono print, so it is numbered 1/1 because you only get one print with a mono print, hence the name "mono" print. That also means that despite the fact that it is a print, it is one of a kind, I can repeat the process, but each one will be different. In fact it would be nearly impossible to make them the same, nor would I want to.
It's an exciting, fun process, and you never know what you are going to get. Fortunately I got what I wanted with this one, the vivid purple lupines, the green trees, manzanitas, foliage, grey rocks, and brilliant blue sky.
I'm having so much fun making prints that I can confidently predict that my future will have lots of experimentation and diverse printmaking in it. The results are a thrill, each time you pull the paper up all the design work, planning and speculation comes to fruition in the most satisfying way.
At $75.00 for an un-framed print these are much more affordable than an oil painting, giclee', or a drawing. This piece is currently in a beautiful frame with a double matt and looks great. I'm asking $395.00 for it matted and framed, but will be happy to sell this print alone as I understand that some people prefer to have the option to choose your own framing style.
