This is the winter version of the same tree who modeled for my "Fall Aspens" reduction print, I plan to do all four seasons, spring will be next.
Aspens typically live at higher altitudes, so snow is definitely a part of their lives, I decided big fat snowflakes was an important addition to my composition.
Here in the Sierra mountains we get plenty of high water content snow that comes in off the Pacific Ocean, we take our hefty allotment of snow from these storms and they move on to Colorado.
Today I completed six prints by printing the key block in black, I wanted to have at least this many prints available for the Studio Tour next weekend as I'm going fishing for a few days. There should end up being 18 prints available in this edition, I will update my website to maintain accuracy.
