After discussion in class about Richard Schmid I decided to add terra rosa to the palette and used it to wash the canvas for the sketch to create a warm base to build on always considering temperature as I paint. I chose this image because I wanted to paint a male figure and this image has such a powerful feel of anguish and dramatic lighting.
