This assignment was a lot of fun, limited secondary triad palette, ivory black, titanium white, cadmium orange, violet, and viridian green. I decided to take an assortment of selfies with my cell phone in various facial expressions and perspectives.
I chose this image because I like this perspective, although in the photo the color and expression were pretty bland. Once I bagan painting in this palette it came alive, the colors felt celebratory and vibrant, they really popped. This changed the whole direction of the piece, it really surprised me in an exciting way.
Just a note, I had been posting these images in order, but back before the Reclining Nude #2 painting I had done my mid-term assignment, it still needs some work, so, not wanting to post an incomplete painting it will get posted once I have it done to my satisfaction.
