It’s been a while since I’ve posted any new pieces on my website because my studio has been taken up by this project that I began back in April of 2025.
My daughter asked me if I would make a mosaic for her kitchen back splash. Sure, immediately getting excited about learning a new skill, I jumped in full steam. A year and three months later I have completed my first mosaic!
Of course the design idea I came up with was more challenging than I should have taken on in my first attempt, but it sure was fun, and all in all I’m very pleased with the results.
This piece is not for sale, but I have some substrate and materials left over so I can make some smaller ones in a similar design. I will also have to figure out how to price these, and will consider commissions going forward.
I call it Fairy Land because that is how it feels to me when I look at the leafy aspens and colorful wildflowers. I hope you enjoy it! And now I’ve got my printmaking tools out again so there should be more new posts of prints soon.
I will have this mosaic with me at my booth at LoRita’s studio #17, 784 Lake Tahoe Blvd, South Lake Tahoe, California for this year’s Tahoe Art League Studio Tour that runs for three days, July 31st, August 1st and 2nd. Hope to see you there!
